New Awning

Well, I picked up our trailer yesterday from our dealer after they installed a new awning because of damage they did to the awning before I took possession, never told me about it during the walkthru. I was in a bit of a rush when I picked it up but I did notice that the fabric had a little bit of a twist on the one end. I mentioned it to the service manager who was doing the walk around with me and he said it just needed to be out in the sun for awhile. Well I had it out in the sun all day and after closer examination it appears that the awning is not perfectly square on the tube which I think is the reason for it not rolling up true. It really makes me angry that I now have to waste more time and gas to go back out a second time to the dealer to fix something that should have been fixed before I took delivery of the trailer new. I would play with it my self as it looks like there are a couple screws on each end of the tube that once out the fabric should be able to slide one way or the other to help square it up. I'm just afraid I'll screw it up worse and then have a real problem. Anyone ever had to Tweek their awning?

Don't know if my situation relates to yours or not but a friend told me I could move the pull strap that's in a groove to one side in order to work the support bars at the same time. Well i found out that the awning rolled up on an angle that way so we moved the strap to the middle and it hasn't done it since

Sorry I even joked about them screwing it up. Hope you get it fixed the right way and get some gas money too.

Seems like most dealers don't really care about customer service anymore. I took my 2012 Jayco 29RLDS back to the dealer to have replace a shade that wasn't working right. On the way there the weather strip that covers the screws around the front door on the right side of the door was flapping all over the place, I told them about it and they fixed it. When I got home and washed the trailer I noticed the weather strip on the same door but on the left side of the door was coming out. Not a big deal I put it back in the channel but you would have thought they would have checked both sides of the door.

Yes you are so right Joe. I get so frustrated with poor service. Once they have your money they loose all interest in your issues. Now I am playing phone tag with the service department to try and get it booked in again. I shouldn't call it tag since I am the only one playing, I leave messages and nobody calls me back. Grrrrrr!!!
