New camper

Hubby and myself bought our first camper July 11,2014. We have only went out in it one time but are planning on going again this weekend. The first camping outing wasnt too much fun. The campground was horrible... woke up and had to relevel our trailer. It was very noisy all night long, The only thing I can say about that was Thank goodness it was a free trip on the dealership, we will not be going back there EVER!!!! WE bought a 2014 145 RB and we absolutely love it!!! We cant wait to have many years of enjoyment with it. If anyone has this model I would love to know what you think about yours. It is a small TT but its plenty big enough for 2 people and our little chihuahua!!!

Neat little trailer! Congratulations and welcome!

You have hit on the one thing that takes both a bit of research and trial and error. As time goes on you'll know what to look for in a campground and be able to find those types of places easier. We've always been partial to state parks, but in WI they are very hard to get into because they are so popular. So we've found a few private places that are to our liking. but even with reading reviews, you still have to try and see.

We are going to a State Park this weekend. I know it has to be better than the first one.

State parks tend to be larger, more spread out and quiet. Turning on the AC or even just the fan often creates enough black noise that I don't notice outside noise 99% of the time.

You'll quickly learn the importance of leveling correctly and securely the first time. Once you get the hang of it, its simple.

Enjoy camping, its a BLAST!

Welcome to the JOF and congrats on the new camper!

I'm curious. Why did you and your neighbor have to re-level each morning?

The ground wasnt level and the gravel sites I guess wasnt good. We were on a hill and the whole side that was where we were had to relevel. the ones that were on flat ground didnt have any problems. I also read some of the reviews for them and several people had this problem.
