I would guess that your particular tv will determine how you operate it.

Does anyone use that brake box thingie the dealership installed in my truck? I am not really sure how that thing works. I know it is to brake the tt if it feels like it is "pushing" me?

Its an electronic brake controller and yes if its adjusted perfectly its a a very nice feature.

Mine is mounted towards the center of the TV and if I move my adjustment to the left (towards the brake pedal) it applies more aggressive braking to the TT. Moving it to the right....less agressive braking.

When it was first installed it was set by the dealer to far left and everytime I applied the brakes it was like getting whip lash.

Spend a bit of time adjusting it to where you can just feel it engage without any sudden jerky motion while driving around town. If you need more during a downhill decent, just use the lever to manually apply braking pressure.

The dealership should have given you full instructions on how to adjust and use the controller. It is a critical to your safety, as well as those around you, that you understand it and adjust it properly.

I would recommend you give your dealer a call and ask them help you adjust the specific model that they gave you. If the dealer is close enough, I would go back and see them.
