I will be it is interesting research. I am a very experienced DIY'er and have helped a few friends fix tt problems. We will be retiring next year and one of my friends suggested that I do "mobile repair," if you are in my campground and it won't use up all of my vacation, I could help fix a few things. Just not sure how much inventory I would need to stock to really be helpful but I have a few months to investigate.

The demand is certainly out there!

Probably would need to incorporate some sort of mobile repair service as well. That's where you'd get most of your business, until you establish a clientele

I wonder if this is positively impacting the used market. Haven't really researched yet, but I already have an itch to trade up!

Just got word....
Ordered our 26BH on Oct. 5th with the norm 10 - 12 week delivery.
Gave my salesman a call today, he looked it up and build date is now the end of March with a beginning of April delivery.
The build is way behind but works well for us as we live in Western New York. TT should be here right about Spring thaw.

Tone, I guess it depends how soon someone needs a TT with the right floorplan.
Also what the dealer has in stock.

I'm waiting for the next recession to buy a new trailer. That's about the time my wife will retire and we can hit the road for 1-2 month trips. Prices should be well below 30% of MSRP at that time. 2018 is when I'm figuring on things tanking.

hmmmm, I can pass a drug test, fairly mechanically inclined and can learn fast. Maybe a part time job to hasten retirement.... Plus the benefit of learning how these things "tick". hmmmmm

I asked the local Jayco dealer what a realistic wait time for a unit ordered just like I wanted. He said 4-5 months.

I was thinking the same thing. Mostly to be able to repair my own unit after retirement.
Make all the mistakes on someone else's unit. Lol

HA! I'm thinking the same thing! My wife and I own our own business now, but if something happens, that's my backup plan! Go back to "school", get some repair certifications, I know a dealer right now who would hire me in a nano second and I could get some good experience. A few years down the road, I could open my own shop and write my own ticket!
I bet I could run circles around the sales staff at these dealerships too! Most of the salesmen I spoke with when I was buying had no idea what they were talking about. Part of me feels like the sales staff should work in the service bays for a year before they get to go sell units on the lot.

At the minimum live in one for a month or two. Drive down the highway.

The service tech who did our PDI with us at Camping World of Denver moved into sales the next week, so it does happen. He was pretty sharp.
