Newb with new '15 Jaylight slx 154bh looking to lift
Hello all... First travel trailer, first post on forum.. This seems to be a a pretty active and knowledgble forum.. I haven't taken delivery of the trailer yet, but I am already looking at moddin it up some.. I am actually just looking for a bit more ground clearance.. I know the trailer comes stock with the spring under axle and I am looking to convert it into the spring over axle. I just have a couple questions.. Is the spring over kit form Dexter absolutely nescessery or can I simply flip the axle? Sorry if the topic has been beating to death, but I am a newb so take it easy on me.. Also, I seen the Baja edition slx and it obviously has bigger tires/rims, if I remember correctly the tires were 235/75/r15 which is a equivalent of a 29" tire.. I was just wondering if this is the max size for a spring over axle conversion or can I go bigger? I have a couple land cruisers and a 4x4 cummins, so I would like to get to some slightly more remote areas than let's say a minivan.. Is the only differences between the regular jaylite and the Baja edition the spring over and the rims/tires, or are there other differences.. I did notice the Baja edition has more diamond plating, is that it? Thanks in advance and looking forward to spending more time in the forum...
