Newbie in Texas
hi all...
we are a family of four that just purchased a 2016 jayco slx 264bh....and quite frankly, i (mom) am terrified and nervous. my husband and kids are extremely thrilled. we are planning a trip to florida at the end of july and we are towing our jayco. so, i'm sure i will have tons of questions from now on out...

Welcome also from Texas! Take your time, get familiar with everything before the big trip and you'll be fine. You may even want to consider an overnight stay in Camp Driveway.

Welcome to the family and congrats on the new TT! Ask away, you'll find the collective experience and knowledge will be at your fingertips. There are no bad or stupid questions here. I've tried.

Welcome from another Texan, we have the same unit and are really happy with it. What are you planning on using to tow it with.

Welcome from yet another Texan!
I also suggest that you guys camp on the driveway using only the things (bathroom, electricity, water, etc) that you will use at the campground. It's always good to do a test run or two before you actually hit the road with a new rig.
Enjoy!

Welcome aboard from a 'Damn Yankee'.
Definitely overnight at Camp Driveway a few times to find out all the things you missed the last time.
A walk to the house beats trying to find an open C-Mart when you 1/2 way through fixing supper.
Happy camping!

Thanks for all of your encouraging words. This is our first TT...ever. We camp a lot but with a tent. We are towing our TT with a 2004 tundra v8 and it has a camper. my husband says it's more than enough power to tow the TT. When i agreed to do this, i went looking for a model that didn't weigh too much. the bunk house seemed like a good fit for what we wanted and needed. we plan on driveway camping once we get it AND camp at a local campground right before we leave for our big trip.
any guestimations on what our mileage might be? the TT weighs 4450 lb dry...

We pulled an almost similar TT with a completely different TV
but I'd expect something in the 7-10mpg, and of course YMMV.
