Your tank probably has a overflow hose that water spills from once the tank is full. Take a look.

Yep, that`s how I know when mine is full, when it overflows out of the hose!

Purely and observation but are you filling up at home due to no water provided anywhere close to your campground or dry site? If you can fill up closer to the site less weight you need to drag with you. I have no idea the size of your tank but it's still weight.

Fill it until it overflows. Some are underneath some are right next to the fill, but you want it to overflow.

If you leave the hose on a low setting long enough you will know when it is full.

When my fills it comes out the overflow but then it keeps going and I lose a 5th of the water put in. Has anyone else had this problem.

Thanks for the help.

There have been some reports on some models of "siphoning" occurring, usually it is when traveling. The sloshing water from the full tank starts to spill out the overflow and starts a siphoning effect, where up to 1/3 of the water volume can be lost. This was solved by putting a valve on the overflow hose and closing it for travel, opening it all other times. I believe there is a thread here on the forum about this issue.

OK on edit I found the link on water loss due to siphoning:

Yup I sure did. So I removed the overflow hose, installed a longer hose and ran it to the filler vent. Never had the problem again.

Thanks for the help. The one thread was not the same problem that we are having. Crackshot thanks, sounds like what I will need to do. I am not sure if I completely understand. By the fill is a small vent, are you saying its not connected to anything and that I should connect the overflow to this vent.

Thanks once again for the help from everyone.

I plugged that siphon tube up... I know the tank is full then it comes out the filler spout...
