Newbie Question on monitor for Water Heater

We have a 2012 Jayco Jayflight 26RLS, we turned on the water and electric, I turned on the Water Heater electric at the monitor panel, the light remains constant longer than 15 seconds, I turn the switch off and wait 5 minutes like it says in the doc and try again, light stays on. Am I interpreting this incorrectly, I thought the light being on in the panel just let me know that the electric option is what was running the water heater, but is it supposed to go out after 15 seconds? I'm confused. Thanks

On mine the lighted toggles in the control pannel only go off when they turned off.

Same with our TT- the light says on while it's 'on'.

Thank you both for your response, that makes me feel a lot better.

So, if I may trouble you again, I was reading Atwood LP Gas Water Heater literature # MPD 93755 on page 4 under Electronic Ignition Operation it says: 1. Refer to the wiring diagram Fig 12. Place remote switch in ON position. 2. If remote switch light stays on longer than 15 seconds, place remote switch in OFF position and wait 5 minutes. 3. Repeat step one.

Is this then referring to the hot water heater itself and I shouldn't worry about this?

Thanks again.

The light on the rocker switch will remain on when the water pump, electric hot water and propane hot water switches are on. They may be referring to a fault light on the panel, if that lights up there could be an issue with the propane hot water heater not lighting. This of course depends on your panel being the same as mine, I`ll see if I can find a pic.

That's the same as ours. The lights stay on till the switch is turned off.
