Ok looking for some help, I ordered my first 5er an Eagle HT 29.5BHDS back on 3-17 they already gave me the VIN on 4-21. Any idea how long after the VIN is generated to actual completion? Any comments are helpful.

DPI7800, you can call Jayco, give them the VIN and they can tell you when it's coming off the line. They may also be able to estimate a delivery date to the dealership that you ordered from. And if they say they can't, press them because they can and they will.

As long as the dealer paid for it. JAYCO does not ship until it has payment from the dealer.

Really, I assumed like most B2B transactions there are net terms. I also would have assumed before Jayco anointed someone as an authorized dealer that dealer would have had to demonstrate some level of finacial security. I had no idea dealerships had to use their floor financing or available cash on day one just to receive delivery from Jayco.

I wish Jayco was a public company so I could review their quarterlies. If what you are saying is true then I imagine Jayco has an awesome cash conversion rate. Heck, maybe even negative days since they would buy components on net terms, build at lightening speed, then collect from the dealership before even shipping the unit.

Sounds like a business model model that would be ripe for disruption, especially when a mfg like Forest River can access all the free cash Berkshire Hathway is sitting on.

Not saying you are wrong, but I'd be interested in how you know that?

When we did the plant tour in Sept, when our PINNACLE was being built, the tour guide said nothing goes to shipping until JAYCO has a check.

...and right now, they're being slammed and there's a shortage of CDL drivers to deliver some of the larger models.

Apples and oranges but I know Hatteras Yachts doesn't deliver anything until they are paid. They don't care where you get their money but they don't lay the keel unless 10 percent down, then full payment upon delivery...and we are talking upwards of 100 million on the big stuff.

Indiana just relaxed one it's State Laws regarding a "Chauffer's License" to make it easier on companies to get drivers. CDL law was not affected, but Indiana had another layer of bureuacracy on top of CDL's.

Talked to the dealer this morning... our 351RSTS was completed on Tues (5/5). It's been paid for and released for shipping but until Jayco assigns it to a driver, I guess we sit in limbo. It's not easy to be patient when you're this close.

JAYCO no longer has their own drivers, JET was disbanded a couple years ago. It is taken to the delivery "bull pen", I think it's STAR and they handle the logistics.

I was wondering if Jayco allows customer pickup.

Also, does Jayco have their on service bays or everything goes through the dealers?

I'm wondering about this only for TTs and 5ers.

They do not allow customer pickup and they do have a service center. It is hard to get an appointment and they really want you to use the dealer. The service center is primarily for work that is normally beyond just routine warranty repair.

Ok first I want to say thank you so very much for the input and a special thank you to Quahog.

I called Jayco today and asked about my trailer and they told me it was finished last week and is ready to ship. Apparently that was way to difficult for a salesperson to do. But that is all fine and dandy, it is done and that is all that really matters.

We are waiting too. Placed our order on 4/20 Jay Flight 32IBTS. Our salesman was so communicative before we purchased, now not so much. I will be calling tomorrow.
