Outside Gas Grill...Is There Supposed to be a Gas Connector ?
I just purchased this 08 G2 25 RKS. There is a short mounting rail on the side (guessing about 18 inches) as if there was an an outside gas grill, but there is no grill. Also I do not see a Gas Connector for a grill. The 2008 brochure says the grill is optional. Do you think they were all made with the mounting rail, even if no outside grill was ordered?
I would like to have a grill, but not sure of what's involved running a line for the propane.
I am the third owner. The person I bought it from said there was no grill when he bought it. And we do not know how to contact the original owner.
If this rail is not for a grill, then what it it for?
Thanks much!

some people add those rails and make a table to to attach to the outside. I've never looked close enough at the placement of those rails, but I would think it was added as it's over an emblem. JMHO Also, I have the outside gas connection and had tried everything to get my Weber Q grill working off it, but because of the TT regulator it never worked correctly. I tried many different ways spending a bit of money with no luck. It worked but not the way it was supposed to, so now I carry an extra tank,my grill, a stove, and a propane tree that allows me to connect both appliances and a lantern. http://www.amazon.com/Century-Two-Pi...s=propane+tree

Yes that is therail for the outside Grill to mount on. It was a option on a lot of trailers and on mine there is a gas quick connect connection right below my rail if yours doesnt have the gas connection then it wasnt ordered on that unit. not sure why the rail was put on. I have never used mine on side of trailer as I saw a couple of units in the repair shop with heat damage because of grill. But that said I know that a lot of people here do use theirs and have had no problems. To fix yours you would have to get a gas line placed under the rail and get a RV BBQ that will mount to the rail.

I would say the rail was installed from the factory, not sure about your gas line connection. There are many options for gas grills to use outside without hanging it off the side of the trailer. My trailer has that rail and a gas connection, but I did not order a grill to go with it. I had made a table that hung from the rail, but I did away with it because I didn't like the fact the table was stationary, each camp sit is a bit different, and I prefer having a mobile setup. I have a Camp Chef stove that I use and attach to the gas connector, it works great, it has a long enough hose that I am able to move the table around a bit.
Options for stoves include propane stoves, white gas stoves, Coleman Road Mate grills, Camp Chef, charcoal, WeberQ grills... and many others. Don't worry about that rail...

The RVQ grill is over priced and over rated by many. I would not spend the $$$ to get a gas line run and a grill hooked to it. Just use a conventional grill.

Thanks for all of your responses.
I have ordered a SideKick grill, including starter and storage bag and shipping for $85. I also ordered an additional rail so that I can mount a small table next to the grill. Now all I need is GAS! Will look underneath next to frame for gas soon.

On my 5th, that's where the gas connection is. Mine actually has 2 of them there, one for the grill and one for my outdoor stove. I use the one for the stove, sold my RVQ (1st generation) years ago, just didn't like the way it cooked.
