Outside refrigerator removal

My wife and I just got back from 40 days camping in Florida with our new Whitehawk 27DSRL. We never even considered using the outside refrigerator, and I don't foresee us ever using it, and could well use the extra storage space if it were removed. How many of you have removed theirs and can you give me any tips/does-don'ts before I get on with it?

BTW, we absolutely loved the Keys!!!

We have a 28DSBH and found no use for the outside frig. Took the frig out along with the platform it was on. Can fit 2 coolers in the compartment, we do not take them out when setup camp. It stays pretty cool in the compartment and ice lasts a lot longer.

Took mine out day 1. Never used. Plugged in at home. Puts out some heat. I wouldn't want the extra heat under my bunk anyway. Just remove a few bolts/screws. Pretty straight forward.

Thanks for this thread. We don't have our trailer yet, but plan on removing the outside kitchen, and it's esp. good to know the 'fridge puts out some heat.

I'm thinking of removing mine, as well. I could use it in my workshop to keep beer cold!

And the space could be used for an outside stove. and storage for my Weber Q200 grill. There is a propane tap back there anyway, on my 32RLDS - about two feet away from that space.

I had an outdoor kitchen with stove on my Keystone Outback and miss being able to cook outdoors without setting up my Coleman camp stove and hooking it up to a propane bottle.

Removed the refrigerator and surrounding paneling and platform with no problems. Now I just have to secure some wires going to the usb charger in the bedroom. I will really like the extra storage.

Love my ODK fridge, but removed my ODK micro which was nice added space. Think that they are similar in mounting with the 90 degree straps and 2 screws. Should be as simple as removing them and use as desired. I would plug the holes with silicone to prevent water damage as the counters are chip board.
