Parked in too tight of a spot

Like many men, I did not listen to the wife. I parked the boat a little too close to the TT. When I went to move the TT to take and have it winterized, the spare tire on the boat trailer pushed on the left front basement door. It did not break the door other than to push the latch on the lower right through the door. The lock was not affected. The door still closes fine and locks. My question is does anyone know the normal cost of a replacement door? I can change it out with no problems just not sure where to buy other than the dealer and am just seeing if this is another source. Next time I will listen to the wife for sure.

There are a bunch of them on ebay, many sizes. I`m sure they are quite pricey ordered from the factory as most things are.

Check some of the on-line RV Surplus facilities, they may have something. Since you have a 2011 model I'm not sure if your door is a standard size, or a new size for 2011. If you do find something on-line confirm the age of the door, I'm sure you don't want one that is to faded.

You may be stuck staying with a Jayco source in order to keep the paint match close, I'm sure other manufactures have their own paint mix, even in white.

Thanks Rustic Eagle. Words of advice were what I was looking for. Felt bad enough putting the first ding in the DW TT.

I feel your pain. All dings are painful but that first one has got to be the worst, especially when you are the one to put it there.

If you have trouble finding a door that is the exact same color as your old one (who knew there could be so many shades of white, for crying out loud?), get one the least expensive one that looks good other than color and take it, and the dinged door) to a paint shop and either have them repaint the new door or mix up some paint for you and shoot it yourself.
