Picked my unit, now found it 18 hours away much cheaper

We are trading in our 2014 whitehawk 28dsbh. We are getting a 2017jayflight 28bhbe. Ordered and scheduled for pick up IF all the dings and mishaps are taken care of. Saw the same model, same package , same everything for about 6k less on sale. Confirmed availaibilty. Left a message for my salesman with a copy of the MSRP and showing they are giving us almost 5k more for our trade in. I really hope they stand behind their word of not being undersold and beating the lower price by $500. Hope he is in the office tomorrow. I have so much anxiety. I don't want to drive 18 hours to get it but could just chalk it up to an impromtu roadtrip, right??

Dealer 18 hours away? I would have a very through PDI. EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING is tested and shown to be in good working order.

Sometimes it isn't about the lowest price! Sometimes you pay a little more for convenience and this is especially true if your dealer is worth it. Heck, for your absolute best savings, just sell your 28dsbh privately and just get the 28bhbe on a clean deal. I can guarantee I am not willing to travel 18 hours one way with my trade in tow, just to hope the salesman wasn't lying to me. Heck he knew I was towing my old camper 18 hours right? He wouldn't lie to me would he? They probably did their own PDI and fixed everything so I could hook up and go straight to the campground, right?

These are chances I would never hedge a bet on. But we are spoiled in that we have a dealership 1 hour away who takes care of us.

right now the dealer that is close is charging full msrp and giving much less on the trade in. I am hoping by presenting this to them that there must be room to wiggle with their price.

Our local dealer, whom we bought a new TT from before, would not deal to our satisfaction and we gave them every opportunity to do so on the purchase our current rig.

This was an order out...no floor planning no nothing...place the order that's it!

We ended up going to So. Cal just N. of San Diego traveling almost 500 miles and 8.5 hours to save $7,000....wouldn't you.

Seamless also...all online negotiations and when we went down to p/u up our new Pinnacle could not have gone better starting with a great PDI. Stayed overnight at the dealer to run electric/water and then they recommended going to nearby Pechanga RV Resort & Casino to run all systems (including sewer) for a couple of days before heading back to Reno. (Pechanga RV Resort was well worth the trip )

With all that if you can save substantial $'s in a purchase then it's up to you.

We would do it again.

Safe travels.

Yeah, full MSRP?! I thought 20-30% off MSRP was the norm.

You should not pay anywhere near that price for a TT. 20-30% off MSRP is not uncommon. If for some reason you decide to trade/sell it in the first 1-3 years you are really going to take a bath if you pay full MSRP.

I went for the drive.
Iowa wasn't too far for me to save $6-7 (30% under MSRP) thousand!

Well when I was looking for our 28DSBH I priced them out everywhere. I ended up purchasing ours at our local dealer who came in $2,000 less (>25% off MSRP) than anywhere else. Needless to say they have been great to deal with and anytime I have had any issues they were taken care of very quick. I don't think they would have been as quick to take care of any warranty work if I hadn't purchased it from them. 18 hours is a long way to travel and if and when you need warranty the closest dealer may not be willing to help you in a timely fashion. Just a thought.
