I dont think it would. The hum is caused by the magnetic relay internally to the unit. I guess you could put some foam insulation around the cabinet where it is located to reduce it - but really - it is not that noticeable and you quickly forget it is there as it becomes background noise. I have a fan inside my fridge and even with the fridge door closed, it covers up any hum from the EMS.

Thankfully the EMS is at the opposite end of the trailer than the bedroom is, so the hum will not be a problem.
