Power cord stuck

braintax - just take it to the dealer and have them install the plug-in type power cord if that is an issue...

Its actually not a real hard thing to do. The kits comes with all you need to make it work... You just pull out the cable all the way and cut it off and connect the wires from the trailer side to the outside wall connector. Then install the provided twist-on plug on the cut off end of the shore power cable...

Thanks for all the info, I am pretty comfortable doing it myself, done a lot of electrical work in the past, more concerned they could void the warranty, for not something I did.

I did that on one of my previous TTs and found the trailer end (male connector) kept falling inside the little round hole and I had to find a skinny person to reach in and retrieve it. I finally tied a piece of para cord to it so I didn't have to reach in and find the cord end.


And you can imagine what would happen if some amateur puts the female end on the trailer and the male end on the power cord. Murphy spends a lot of time in RV parks and campgrounds.

John Wedell - I did just that after some idiot cut my shore power cable off and stole it for the copper wires I guess...

It ran that way for about year before I finally got the twist-on mod done. (Wire nuts and electrical tape)

I have a 25-foot RV 30AMP shore power extension cord with the RV M and F ends on it so That worked great for me until I got the mod done...

I'm glad the thief left me a foot or so to work with haha...

The one thing I learned for working in all of this over the years is to develop some good PLAN Bs... Othewise momabear won't come with you on the trips...

Usually can find a LOWES STORE close by just about anywhere you end up at...

Great idea for a simple fix but with Jayco they love to threaten and use any reason to void the warranty.
