Power jack
I have a new jay flight FB22. We are in NC visiting for Thanksgiving. and I lowered the power jack to far down and now it will not go up. (No power) any ideas on how to manually get it up or what to look for to get it working again. Thanks

You blew a fuse. You can use the manual handle to raise it up if you have one.
Usually there is a sticker on jack post that says "do not go lower than this". Good to re-mark yours if it's missing.

Do you by any chance know where the fuse is or where to look for it.

I think it's just the main 30 amp fuse coming off your battery box. I've never blown one so I am just going by threads I have read in the past.

Yep. I did the same thing. There's a small rectangular fuse holder inline between the battery and the jack. Open the top and replace the 30 amp automotive type fuse. (the older, larger spade-type)
If you don't have a 30 amp, you can use a 40 amp, in a pinch. Just don't lay on the switch when you reach the end of stroke and overload the wire. But replace it with a 30 amp ASAP.

Thanks, so with that 30 amp fuse is just for the jack? Because I have lights and power everywhere else.

Weird, exact problem for me today, had to manually crank it up. The motor works to extend it, but it won't retract, the motor doesn't even try.
Added it to the list of things to have the dealer fix when I drop it with them over the holidays next month.

Well, if it works one direction but not the other, it's not the fuse. It needs to be relaced.

I believe the also powers smoke detectors in the trailer also. Some people pull that fuse if they cant charge up the battery or the detectors will kill the battery.I had a similar situation as what you are saying.I opened up the battery box and it was full of water and the fuse and wire were corroded to all hell.I replaced fuse and cleaned up all the wires and drilled holes so the battery box doesn't fill up again and its been problem free since

Most trailers have two lines (and two fuses/breakers) coming off the battery. One goes to the house and the other goes to the breakaway and to the jack.
If the jack goes up but not down (or the other way around) it is probably the switch or a wire connected (or disconnected) to the switch.

Yeah, they'll blow if you hold the switch for about 2 milliseconds after the post reaches it's limit of travel up or down. Glad you found it.

The jack fuse protects the jack. No more. No less.
The smoke detectors have their own internal batteries.
The CO & Propane detector will kill the coach battery in a month or so if it is not plugged in or on solar panels.

Had same problem. If you extend past the limits up or down it will blow fuse.

You have to listen to the motor really carefully. When the whining/grinding starts to go lower in pitch, let go of the switch immediately!
You've got .000000000001 of a second from the time the motor locks up until the fuse blows.
But your got close to 1/4 of a second from when the post encounters its stop until the motor locks.

I installed an inline battery disconnect switch on my rig. When I park it after a trip, I disconnect the battery and then nothing can drain it down.
Also note that in the newer Jaycos, the entertainment system is powered all the time, too. So that is an added parasitic draw on the battery when disconnected from your TV or shore power.
I highly recommend a disconnect switch!
