Power Tongue Jack

I'm new to the forum. Just took delivery this past week of an '18 Jay Flight 26BH.

I am unable to get the power tongue jack to work unless the trailer is connected to the tow vehicle and the tow vehicle ignition switch is on. Trailer battery seems fine and connections look good and are tight.

I know it worked at the dealer before it was hooked to my truck.

Anyone had this experience or have any ideas?

Check the inline fuse between the jack and the battery.

If the fuse is bad, why would it work when connected to the tow vehicle? Or is there a double power feed?

Does it have a fuse in the main panel? IDK..

Trust OZ & Dusty its the fuse. Usually blows when jack travels to the stops.

I had same problem. Dealer tech told me when the battery is low on juice it can blow the fuse

if it is a fuse, how does plugging it in to the tow vehicle cause it to work?

I do not know anything about electricity but I guess when you plug in a he 7-pin wire it overrides the line to the fuse. Fuse is only for using battery power?
