Probably a ridiculous question

Perhaps I am being overly paranoid, but here goes. How does everyone attach things such as a paper towel holder etc. in their TT's? I was thinking velcro. I just can't bring myself to putting screw holes in kitchen cabinets, walls etc.

My rule of thumb is if you can put it under a cabinet fine. I don't believe in putting anything into the walls on the inside or outside. Sometimes a little accessory can cause a big problem.

I cringe when I look at the awning mounts!

We have drill holes under cabinets, but for walls...

Try checking out Command Products (no holes to drill in wall and can be removed without leaving residule stickiness)

We found some of what we needed at WM.

X2 holes in bottom of cabinet and command hooks on the wall.

Someone on here, Quahog I believe, found a magnetic paper towel holder and placed on the side of his stove hood. I liked the looks of it and no drilling, but was concerned about having to move it every time we used the stove or risk a fire.

I also don't like punching into walls, on either side. In the shower and bath sink I've used adhesive backed holders for soap, etc. DW bought a stand up holder for the paper towels.

I use glue, double sided tape, command hooks, Velcro, and screws to mount one of the three paper towel holders that is attached to the wall just to the right of the stove top. I used 1/4 inch screws which are 1/2 the length of the screws Jayco use to mount my medicine cabinet in the bathroom.

My wife is fond of small nails for pictures, calendar, etc. No problems that can't be solved with a puddy stick.

A friend gave my wife a sign for our new TT, I said no way are we putting nails in the walls, she then handed me a pack of those Command Products and they work perfect.

I did add some shelves in one of the closets on my 23j. I used a screw a tiny bit smaller than the screws jayco uses. I don't think it caused any problems but it's only been a couple days. Fingers crossed no issue arrises. As far as paper towels, I found a stand up holder which has a suction cup on bottom made by sharper image. I bought it at home goods and saw it one at bj's/Costco (1 of them). I leave it right on the counter when traveling with no problems.

The command products are the way to go (IMO). My wife has an assortment of them in the camper and in the house. We have used them for pictures, clock, thermometer, etc. We even used them to velcro the television remotes to the inside of a cabinet door. Even with towing across the bumpy roads of South Louisiana, we are still yet to have anything fall.

We have been looking for the right paper towl holder to mount under the cabinet. From what I can tell you need to ensure that where you want to mount it will accept a screw. What seems to be solid wood may just be thin paneling and may have wires or tubing behind it.
We use the command products for a lot, but will look to screw in the paper towel holder. Jayco doesnt seem to have issue with screwing things into the coach walls, but I would only do that as a last resort and if you do, carefully research the screw type/length.

As posted by imaynard, "The command products are the way to go". That's a big 10-4 from us we use them for a lot of hang ups! As far as the paper towel holder we use the free standing style just as huntrfish does.

We've hung several things using either double sided tape (shower soap holder) and the command strips. The command has mostly been for towel/clothes hooks. Tried using a couple of the large command hooks for a broom and floor mop but they would not keep a grip on the wood paneling. Never a problem on the "wallpaper" but something about the wood was not letting the command get a grip, figure it's the finish. The 3M double sided tape seems to be holding in its place.
Small screws for the paper towel holder, not enough counter space to give up some for a stand up holder.

I bought a paper towel holder at Bed Bath and Beyond. It is white and has screws for the install. I bought some industrial strength velcro, and am going to try that instead of the screws. I will be down camping with it this weekend so gonna give it a try then.

maybe it's just me, but most of the mods that I do to my trailer, aren't "ME" specific...like the paper towel holder, cup hooks, wine glass rack, coat rack and key holder are all things the next person would enjoy...of course they may not get my shoe rack idea or lattice work sewer pipe holder thingy!!

I just dedicated a cupboard for all my paper products and leave it at that. I don't want to punch holes in walls where it could come back to haunt me if I decide to sell.

We always use nails and screws to fasten things. It is our trailer and we use it. Let the next guy figure out what to do with some small holes. Putty stick almost makes them go away.

I always use the command products on the wall. I just mounted a paper towel rack above the sink to the underside of the cabinet. If you ever sell you leave those kinds of things screwed in.
