Protecting

Howdy, just bought my first new Trailer, Jayco 264BHW, any suggestions on wax to apply to protect paint? Given the size and fact never owned one prior prefer not to waste any time. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Many owners swear by a good carnauba wax or 303 Protectant.

I use a good quality car wax like Mothers or Meguiars.

I wash mine at the beginning and end of the season using a low pressure foaming attachment for my pressure washer and a "scratch-free" car wash brush. I have not waxed it yet after 2 years (no time), but if you have the time it cannot hurt!

The 264BHW is aluminum sided? I used meguiars cleaner wax on my aluminum sided Jay Flight. It's a liquid formula that goes on and wipes off pretty easily. It did a great job IMO. It was a lot of work on a 38FDDS! LOL!

Do you know the build date? Just keep this in mind (from owners manual):

For recreation vehicles with painted exterior graphics:
If desired you may wash and wax your vehicle 60 days after purchase. The exterior paint does need time to cure before any wax is applied to the exterior surface. Careful maintenance for the first 60 days will
assure a long lasting durable finish.

Thanks for the advice y'all, yes Production date of Aug 2016. Really want to get this out of the way, learning about roof treatments as well if anyone has any advice!
Thanks again.

We have the same trailer. Twice a year, after a thorough washing, I use the Turtle Wax spray on, wipe off. But first I use Awesome cleaner, bought at Dollar store for a dollar, and elbow grease to clean off black marking. This combination of wash, clean, wax, takes about 3 hours, but is well worth effort. Btw, I also scrub roof first, and once a year I apply the roof sealant.

ProtectAll here. Has carnuba wax and uv inhibitors. Easy on, easy off.

I use 303 twice a year and it is easy to use and I believe it is doing its job. I use it on all my plastic kayaks and swear by it. Shop around and buy in bulk not the small bottles as it is often $1 per ounce in small bottles.

I too have a SLX 264bhw. Mine is a 2015 and still looks new. The previous owner obviously did something right. Any quality wax will work.

I have a 2014 Eagle that is hand washed twice a year and hand waxed once a year. I also put up a shed to park it under last year. It still looks good as new after going on the road once a month. Hopefully, it stays that way.
