Question about 32BHDS roof material

Last weekend I went to my local dealer and looked at the roofs of both the 32TSBH and the 32BHDS. I had expected them to look the same, hard rubber.

The 32TSHB was hard, but the the 32BHDS had a sort of sheathing on the roof that looked like I could simply cut open with an sharp knife. It was crinkled near the edges. That is the best I can describe it.

When I asked the salesman he said that Jayco puts different materials on their roofs, depending on what comes in from the suppliers.

I don't know that I'm happy with that answer. Can anyone here give me any insight on what I might have seen on the 32BHDS roof. It did not look too good . . . I would prefer a hard rubber than a crinkly sheathing of some kind.

Thanks so much.

I`m wondering if it was the same material (EPDM) but one was installed tight, neat and proper and the other was loose and sloppy. Since they are both Jayflights and presumably the same model year I would think the material would be the same, but who knows anything is possible, they may have made a mid year change in materials or something. Oh and yes you could cut ANY of the rubber roofs open very easily with a sharp knife. They are soft and not that thick. Welcome to the forum!

On my 32BHDS it appears the roof material is loose in some areas. Maybe not enough glue used when they rolled it on at the factory. I have seen many like this.
