Questions after Gulf round trip

Just returned Saturday from our longest trip, 800 miles total, to Gulf Shores Al. and back and I think we did pretty well following the basics. Let me know what we may have forgotten or done better please.
TV is 01 with 135 k on it had it serviced (oil, filter, check fluids and tire pressures).
TT; checked lugs, tire pressures, balanced cargo as much as possible. This was first long interstate haul and I didn't notice any fishtailing but in strong wind gusts or when big rigs went by it seemed to move the TV and TT in tandem so I am wondering if that sounds normal for a good anti-sway brake setting. Waited to purchase as much as we could at destination rather than haulin' the groceries. I felt the side walls at each stop to feel if they felt alarmingly hot, and each stop was at no more than 150 miles or about two hours. We kept it under 65 MPH at all times, I learned quickly to do all the giving and not blow a gasket if people wouldn't speed up or slow down coming off ramps etc. not worth it and not the time to play chicken!
The day after returning we gave her a good cleaning inside and out. We've had it six months and it was due, but I was also concerned about corrosion after a week so close to salt water, is that a legitimate worry?
That's all I can think off now, and once again thanks to everyone whose posts have helped educate us Newbies right up to and including the Swagman truck bed fork mount bike rack someone sent me a link to, it was perfect!

I would not be concerned with only a week's exposure to the salt air but I would run the truck thru a car wash that has an undercarriage wash.

Being that we pretty much have a layer of salt on and under our vehicles here beginning when the first snow flies up until Feb. or March, I would not be the slightest bit concerned about that small of an amount of salt. Sure you can run it through a wash with an under body flush, but I rarely do that myself and it can take many years for any real rust to show up.

Thank you for the questions. We are doing our non local trip in the spring to St Augustine area. All things I would have asked

I live about 200 yards off the Gulf of Mexico and we have a constant breeze blowing off the gulf everyday. When it rains, since the moisture is taken from the gulf, there is some salt in the rain.

The truck gets washed at the car wash every month, the rain (weekly down pours) keeps it pretty clean. The TT gets washed or just rinsed after our trips. Twice a year, I wash the roof with Spick and Span and wax the TT.

So far have not seen anything that the salt spray may have done to either the TV or the TT. The TV is a 2012 and the 2013 (purchased in August of 2012). We have been living this close to the gulf since 1998, no issues except some wind damage (hurricane) in 2004/2005.

The salt spray doesn't affect anything around the house either, the only thing that is an issue is mold. So the house stays at 81 degrees 50% humidity while we are gone for the 4 HOT summer months. I leave the roof vents open on the TT and the fan runs during the day to keep the air circulating.

LOL I forgot about those days, grew up in way upstate NY. It was tough to find a descent "First Ride" in the 70's. Only thing you could afford was eaten up with rust!

You'll be fine. Helps to accept the drive time is a necessary, but small price to pay for the experience. We have the same TT and you have a lot more truck pulling yours. I'd love to get two more years out of the Tundra, then were going to upgrade!
