I'm finally giving in and ditching the stock Rainier's. Made an appt with Discount tire next week to get some Endurance installed. I figure there's a 95% chance I'd never have an issue. Also, having to change a tire isn't a big deal. That being said, I fear the collateral damage. I also thought back to when I did my PDI, and one of the Rainier's already had a bulge in it after only making a trip from the factory.

I am not 100% sure what is considered the safe max tire temp, but from what I have found surfing the net upwards of 120*+/- seems ok. Obviously this will vary depending on your location, are the tires in the sun or shade while traveling, etc. The biggest thing to look for is a large difference between tires. More than 10-15* as I understand for the same side (sun vs shade).

I picked my thermometer up at Sams Club. Seems to be doing ok so far.....

I have been looking at the tires again (Carlisle HD vs GY Endurance), and Discount Direct has the HD's for $82/tire, LR E vs the $121/tire for the GY's. The "in store" online price is $96 vs $121. I have had two sets of Carlisles (one RH, one the model before the RH's) and never had any issues with them, owning each for 2yrs before buying a new trailer. Held air pressure great over the winter, between trips, etc. But having a Made in the US tire would be nice also!!! Hard part is a $40 price difference and I am not a huge fan of GY.....

My new 24' Whitehawk came with "provider" tires. So far we've logged about 3,000 miles, some on very rough roads. Looked them over today and they still look like new. Don't know if this brand of trailer tire is any better, but they are made in China as well. I keep them at 50 PSI.

Is 50psi the max pressure shown on the sidewall? If not, inflate them to the max on the sidewall. The tire sidewalls will flex less that way which helps them run cooler and that pressure is (usually) where the tire's max load carrying capability is found.

I'm on season 4 and over 10 K miles on my stock TowMax tires. No tread or separation issues for me. Keep them inflated properly, and the speeds under 65. They should last a couple years.

I'll look again, but the sidewall says 50 psi max pressure.

EDIT: Yes, 50 psi (cold) rated at 1,578 lbs per tire. So are the "Protestor" tires any good? Anyone else have them?

I have TPMS inside the wheels. As far as I remember, the temp is usually between 115-130f. I am running the tires on max pressure, which is 50 psi cold.
