RAS settings...?

I just installed the Roadmaster Active Suspension last night (super easy install). However I have a question to those who use this type of suspension enhancement.

What setting have you found to be the best the black or the white shim?

I have it set on the white and it lifted my truck almost 1" and during the test drive I can tell a huge difference. It works just as it says it does. But would the 40% setting on the black shim work better or is it to much?

Thanks for the replies!

I had mine set on the black shim and it worked like a charm. Never tried the white as a comparison though

You will find that after a few tows/hauls the spring will need to be tightened again due to stretch. I readjusted mine 3 times before I got it to the setting I wanted. I started with the white disc but ended up going to the lower limit of the black disc (a very snug fit between coils).

i think it all depends on the truck capacities and trailer weights. I had the RAS on my 2014 Silverado while pulling my 31 QBDS (9,000 lbs loaded). I used the wider shim as I needed more support from the RAS. A little trial and error and you will figure it out. Personally, I would prefer to err on the side of too much tension versus too little. I loved the system in combination with the Equalizer WDH.

Awesome guys thanks for the input! Looks like I will need to play around with it I just wasn't sure if it would lift the bed any higher. It already lifted it 1" on the white disc setting. I will give the black disc a try.

Happy trailering!

I agree with christopher.smith50. Better to have a little too much tension than too little. I used the thickest shim (don't remember which color) when installing on my 2014 Titan. It did raise the rear end and I calibrated my E2 WDH accordingly. I get a little AR on stuff and thought that the 1"+ might make a difference.
