Rear Sway Bar

Has anyone here installed a rear sway bar on their TV? I have an '15 F150 SCREW. Truck pulls our 267BHSW just fine, but was wondering if the bar would improve the ride at all, particularly cornering. Looking specifically at the Hellwig Sway Bar.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Are you sure you don't have sway control? Does it have Roll Stability Control?

Yes to both questions. That is to say I do have electronic sway control and stability control.

Just guessing here as I haven't tried either but I would think some airbags would stabilize things more than a sway bar would.

Hopefully someone else chimes in that has experimented with one.

Cheers

A swaybar doesn't control sway at all- maybe indirectly it could. It's a torsion bar that creates resistance to each side of that axles' suspension loading and unloading individually , so it keeps a vehicle more level side to side, specifically in cornering. Just about every passenger vehicle has one on the front , and I've had a few on the rear of trucks- it does make a difference, but you get more benefit the more spirited you drive.

While not specifically an F150, I have added them to many vehicles and they have all made a handling difference. I had one installed on my Tundra when new and when I traded it in, I removed it and sold it to a buddy. The Tundra definitely leaned more in the corners without the rear sway bar. For the money, I think they are a worth-while accessory.

I installed a rear sway bar on my Tundra. The truck leans less during daily driving. I like the improvement since I enjoy the performance of the 5.7. When towing my driving style changes dramatically and I am pretty conservative. I have not noticed any change in how the truck feels. On one of the Tundra forums several people felt an improvement when their trucks were loaded.

Air bags do help considerably. It's what I have and they pretty much eliminate sway.
