Recurve R3 Hitch Control

Greetings,

I am brand new to the whole RV/TT stuff. Never have I owned one so in some areas I am very nervous as it all seems overwhelming to me. One of these areas is the hitch. I had the dealer install a recurve r3 hitch to help with sway. I am reading that before I do any sort of backing up I have to get out and release the arms that attach to the trailer. Can anybody help me understand what I really need to do... I am not excited if I need to do that... Can I just back up as normal? I know there is a bolt I tighten (which I am scared about over tightening or not tightening enough), should I just back that out all the way before backing? How is backing different from taking a sharp turn when driving? I guess I am just confused. Any help/pointers would be awesome!
