Question Refrigerator on LP

When I try to start the refrigerator on LP gas, the gas lights but then after a few seconds it goes out and the light above the door panel flashes as if it was out of fuel. However if I run the thing on electric to cool it first and then switch to gas, it runs and cools quite happily. Has anyone else come across this and what's going on?

Do you light the stove burners first to make sure you've pulled propane into your lines? When I first hook up at a campsite, my refrigerator gas light flashes, until I shut the refrigerator off, light the stove burners, give them 15 to 30 seconds burn with nice blue flame, shut the burners off, and then turn my fridge back on. No flashing light anymore.
