Refrigerator question

I've got a small compact refrigerator I'm planning on taking with us next week while camping at the beach. I'm wanting to lay it flat on it's back in the bed of our truck so I can close my bed cover while towing our Jayco 18 SRB. How much time should I give it before turning it on after setting it back upright when we arrive at the campground? I want to give the compressor oil and refrigerant enough time to settle down before turning it on. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Some manuals will state 24 hours but most things I've read say that's excessive. If it were me I'd leave it for 2 or 3 hours.

We do this all the time, don't wait at all, just pull it out of truck, set it on the ground next to the trailer and plug it in.

4-6 hrs is plenty. The reason is to le the oil settle back down into the compressor.
