Replace Couch with Theater Seating

I have a JayCO 2016 BHBE with the couch that is not a bed. I want to replace it with theater seating. Has anyone made this Modification in this unit or have any suggestions.

Thanks
Chuck

I have the BHBE as well and have been contemplating a change there too. I was thinking of putting "euro" recliners there though. IMO, for our use, the recliners would be more useful than theater seating. I have the fold-out couch. And while it's decent as a bed, we have only ever used it that way once. As a couch it's not so great.

I'm curious to hear what others have to say, especially those who have actually made a mod.

We replaced ours with 2 apt size Lazy Boys really worked out well, the back come off the recliners so go through the door with ease. Check them I think they are on sale at the Lazy Boy store

We were just talking about this in my Redhawk. The couch is comfy as a couch I guess but we would never make it a bed. Two lazy boys or theater would be great.

You will need width of available space, height of windows behind, wall huggers, depth was not a problem. I only had 60" so my selection was limited. I really wanted to sit in them as not all sit the same. I looked at Quartzite last year and ended up at CW. Reclining, heated, vibrating, LED aisle lighting under. The extra stuff came with the chair but after about a years use I like the vibrator and LED lights watching TV or movies, never use the heat. This set is available with a center arm if you have the room, sort of modular as they hook together. Anything you buy has to fit through the door, so it has to come apart.

That looks really nice!! I'm thinking of keeping my jack-knife sofa but replacing my two lounge chairs with something similar. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has ripped out the box (that also stores the power cable) and the two chairs for some sort of sofa. The problem is the depth is quite narrow. The TT is in storage right now but I think I remember only having about 32-33 inches as the slideout come past. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Redenbacher, I have a 23RLSW Jay feather, which is a similar floorplan, just shorter. I removed the jackknife sofa and had to remove the compartment holding the power cord.

Depth was a issue also. Shopping for a love seat, recliner was a process. Bought it at a local furniture store.

I could have gained a couple more inches of depth by cutting off the length of the rear window valences but what I bought cleared the slide so I decided not to.

I added a PI surge protector behind the couch also.

Don't know if these pics will help you in any way, but will give you an idea what I did.

My "living room" and dinette area is the same as yours, (and the OP). I just ordered a Flexsteel unit that looks similar to yours. I took some very accurate measurements in order to make sure it will fit. Hopefully, the tape measure didn't lie

Does the Flexsteel come apart? Not sure an assembled unit will fit through the door. Keep us posted on how this goes.

Yea, it does. The two "chairs" come apart and the backs are also removable.

Your in good shape then. I looked at some in furniture stores but they did not separate. There might be some here interested in the part/model number for the Flexsteel.
