Replacing couch with recliners

We have a 2013 jay flight swift 267bhs that we love except for the couch. We'd like to take it out and put in 2 wall hugger recliners. Has anyone done this? Will this work? If so what chairs are recommended? Any ideas are appreciated. Other than the couch this is a perfect tt for us and our 3 small dogs
Thanks very much

I took the barrel chairs out of my WH and replaced the curb side with a recliner.

Measure the width of the couch and determine if recliners will fit in the space.

Will the flooring under the couch be ok for recliners as far as looks are concerned.

Also you may want to figure out how you will secure them while on the road.

Make sure you try them in the store. Get the wall hugger model so you won't have to be moving them around to travel.

FWIW we removed the stock couch and one of the original recliners and replaced with Lazy Boy products. Neither is locked down, and neither moves even though we have five miles of terrible road between home and highway.

Any issues with getting the couch out the door?

No, but do some measuring in case couch size changed. My replacement recliner is much larger than the one that came with the TT but it breaks down into two pieces. I'm not pushing that brand. The two in the TT are fine, but a $1200 one in my home developed foam issues in a couple months. If you don't get the kind that breaks down, then size does matter.

Hmm. I'm interested in deleting one of my couches and putting a couple recliners in as well. Let us know how this works out!

Replacing couch with recliners

Well couch is out and new recliners are in. Husband had no problem removing the couch. It comes apart so seat and back go separately out the door easily.
We went with chairs that are on a pedestal with an ottoman from Wayfair. They massage and heat. Very comfortable and they look so nice. Any ideas now on what to do with the couch? Off in two weeks for a nice trip. Looking forward to using our new chairs. Thanks for all responses

How are you going to secure them during travel or is it necessary? Would like to do this in our WH. Also, will this affect the warranty? Any pictures to post?

I'd like to see pics too.

I considered doing this a while back, but DW nixed the mod. She didn't want to alter the trailer too much. I had decided that those chairs from IKEA with matching ottomans would be a good, economical solution.

These: POÄNG Chair - Alme natural, medium brown - IKEA

Red face Replacing couch with recliners

We're not going to need to secure the chairs at this time. We will take this trip to Montana and then see how it goes. I have pictures but have no idea how to post them. If someone would be kind enough to walk me through this I'd love to share the pictures. I'm very happy that we made this change.

Replacing couch with recliners

I created an album with some pictures of the new recliners but now I can't figure out how to put them in the post. Could anyone walk me through this? Thanks

Select the go advanced post button. You will see a paper clip next to a smiley face. Select the paper clip and a box will pop up telling to to browse to the file location on your computer.

If you have an online location like flicker, select the button under the smiley face that looks like a world with a chain link. A box will pop up and allow you to paste the link from the album online location.

I love that you replaced your couch with theses recliners,

They look awesome and I would like to ask you if you would have information? so I can purchase these also my Jayco Jay flight leather couch bed totally collapsed and fell apart, and I don't want another couch as this one. I want to replace them with these type of recliners and I like the Ottomans too.

I replaced our sofa with Thomas Payne theater seating. Before removing the existing sofa make sure there’s nothing under it that would prevent a recliner from going in the space. I’m attaching a pic of my replacement project, it wasn’t quite finished when I took the pic but you can get the idea.
