(Restarted w/new option) Do you use wheel chocks a majority of the time?

I just bought some Rotochoks and really love them but I've noticed that people use all different kinds and some don't use anything at all. Do you use chocks and if so, which kind do you use?

Chocking the wheels is very important. I actually prefer the X-Chock between the wheels but use regular chocks on a daily basis. The X-Chock helps eliminate movement and gives you a more stable feeling.

Progress came out with the Fastway One Step. We have a bunch of customers using them and all rave about its ease of use and proficiency. I haven't personally tried it yet.

I now use both, Bal chocks between the wheels and yellow chocks on the low side for good measure.

Just safer that way... Also in the Fire Dept it was required to chock you vehicle when you got to the scene so I'm kind of hung up on old habits...

I chock all four wheels (one chock on the front of the front wheel of the tandem, one chock on the rear of the rear wheel of the tandem). But if I have to raise a side to level the trailer, then I use the BAL chock between the tandems on the raised side and chock both wheels on the low side.

I store my trailer at a self-store and have seen trailers blown out of their parking spaces by high winds (some hitting other vehicles and inflicting damage) that were not chocked.

I voted "between tires" although we use both Bal-X as well as a chalk behind and in front of tires on at least one side of tt

4 wheel chocks on the ground, a pair of BAL X-chocks between the wheels. When I'm using my Lynx Levelers due to an unlevel campsite, I use my Lynx Chocks which lock onto the levelers.

Always chock your wheels, X-chocks are not meant to hold the TT from rolling.

I saw a TT being towed off with a set of BAL X-chocks still installed. They didn't get far before they noticed it. 20 feet or so. It wasn't pretty.

is it really worth getting the Fastway Onestep? I am just curious, not questioning.
I use the regular chocks and it has worked fine for me so far. I'd love to have the Fastway Onestep, but will probably wait till their price drops a bit.

YUP!!! We arrived really late into a cg after traveling all day. We were tired and although we installed the Bal-X chocks, neither of us put down chalks in front/back of tires. Half an hour later, the tt rolled a little putting a lot of pressure on those poor stabilizers! The tires heated from a full day of desert highway travel had cooled and reduced in size! Mistake we won't make again! And we now are always sure to re-tighten down the Bal-X after an hour or so.

I ordered the Fastway Onestep and tried to size it for my tires. Unfortunately, I've got 13 inch tires and they are only 4 inches apart. They Fastway Onestep would not fit between the two. It was too long. I had to return it and get the Rotochoks.

I love this forum. This is exactly the kind of experience we can all learn from without making the same mistakes. Now I get it. I'll add a small chock every time even if I use the rotochoks. Thanks.

I will NOT release the TT from my truck WITHOUT putting chocks between the tires.
Once I have my TT leveled side to side, I put my BAL Deluxe chocks between the tires and then begin my set up.
That is my set up and I am sticking to it................forever.

That's the safest way IMHO too!

Chocks - Why Use Them?

Here was a guy camping at a car race last fall. No chocks, but he definitely had his anchor out. The slack in the anchor line would bother me a bit but......Worked for him. LOL
