restring a shade

One of the strings on my bedroom shade broke. They are NOT day/night just regular pleated shades.
(2012 Jayco Jayflight 29RLDS)
Has anyone restrung one and is it as easy as it looks? Any tips would help. and where can I get a restring kit?

Never done one like that but I have restrung many day/nights. Use a match to melt the old line to the new line and pull it gently thru.

I used this company on our previous TT for our bedroom window, ordered the 2 cord kit and did it myself. Not hard just a bit time consuming.

Joe;
If the window shade that needs repair is the small window then you would be surprised that the cost of a new one from jayco is very reasonable. Either way I'm sure you will be able to get back to being ready to roll.

I have restrung some of ours and have at least one more to do. As previously mentioned, not overly difficult just finicky. I would suggest you search Youtube for an instructional video. That's what I did and it made it easy after watching someone else do it. I ended up buying the string from a local home décor store and paid by the foot.

Those pleated shade strings don't last long if you are using your trailer a lot. I am tempted to just change them out to some of those faux wood horizontal blinds.

Thanks for the answers. I will try and restring the shade. It is the small one in the bedroom. If I mess it up I will see about replacing both with something heavier to block out more light.
I use my trailer 1 - 2 weeks a month. Living in Calif we have a lot of places to go. Beach in the summer and desert in the winter so I guess every thing gets a lot of wear and tear.

Surplus City has the string/cord very cheap. I restrung a few. Got tired of it. Changed to blinds.

I restrung two of mine awhile back, here is the thread. I first thought they were called day/night shades but now I think they were just pleated shades.

The method is the same, just a little more complicated on the day/nights.
I found the string at Walmart in the sewing department.
