Road Service

Does anyone use a road service and if so what one,and how is it. I have Camping World road service and needed it yesterday for my truck, it turned into a total mess. the person on the phone could not find our location and after 30min. I told them I would find another way of getting towed. Thankfully I do have a friend who has a towing company so he was able to send someone. But that would not help me if we were traveling.

Since you need a tow for your truck if your having it towed to a dealer I would ask them to have it towed in. I have on my auto policy towing reimbursement.

We have truck/rv insurance through same policy. It includes towing for either/both tv/tt. Never had to use it yet though

Currently, we have a great (on paper) tow package with Safeco insurance as an add-on to our auto policy. The cost is negligible, I think about $8 total for three vehicles plus the TT on the 6-month policy. There is no limit on mileage, which is very important where we live. It was tested just once, but that wasn't a big deal. Just a five-mile tow from our home to the tow company's garage. However, we are switching to Hartford for $ savings but their tow insurance is limited to $75. Worthless when you can be well over a hundred miles from an RV shop. So I'm interested in your question. Let's hope respondents who have used their policy will identify the company and how it performed. We'll have Jayco's company for a year, but will we want to renew with them?

I have american Family. The following is there statement. I'm told they have no dollar limit by my agent.

Emergency Road Service
When you’re stranded on the highway – or in your driveway – you have enough to worry about. Determining where help will come from shouldn’t be your concern.

Fortunately, there's a simple and inexpensive solution: American Family’s Emergency Road Service coverage.1

This inexpensive add-on to your American Family auto insurance policy could prove invaluable. A single call to 1-800-MYAMFAM – anytime, anywhere – is all it takes to get you and your vehicle back on the road.

Emergency Road Service covers:
Mechanical labor up to one hour at the place of your vehicle’s breakdown.
Towing to the nearest place where the necessary repairs can be made, if your vehicle will not run.
Towing your vehicle out if it is stuck on, or immediately next to, a public road or highway.
Delivery of gas, oil, battery or change of tire (not including the cost of the delivered item).
Cost of labor for locksmith services if your keys are locked inside the vehicle (not including cost to replace locks or keys).
In addition, Emergency Road Service includes “Sign and Drive” direct billing for covered towing and labor charges, eliminating your need for upfront payments and reimbursement hassles.

Our auto and trailer insurance includes towing and road service. Both are with the same company.
