Roof Protection

What is the best way to protect the roof of my 2006 Jayflight? It sits out in the weather all year long. It has not had any leaks yet but I figure that I need to do some pro-active maintenance to prevent any future problems.

Clean it several times a year. Inspect every seam and caulk joint every few months for cracks and re-caulk as needed.

Norty is spot on.

My trailer is 9 years old and the rubber roof is doing fine. Not as white pretty as new, but it does not leak.

Typically, I wash the roof about twice a year. I inspect the caulk while I'm up there and reapply Dicor self leveling caulk as needed.

And it's not needed but every few years.

You HAVE to get on your roof at least 2x per year and inspect it. I have Eternabond on all the seams and I still visually inspect it 2-3 times per year. If you think you see a crack in your caulking, fix it then- but before you do that be sure to wash the roof well. This will help reveal any cracks as well.

You've got to be proactive when it comes to a rubber roof. Inspecting and cleaning are must do items.
