SAE to Trailer but does it bypass the controller

I am going solar for boon docking. Purchased a Renogy 100 w panel with an optional SAE connector so I can plug directly into my 2017 23MRB. But, I don't understand solar yet so here is my question. With the wires supplied it appears they have me installing the solar panel directly into my trailer and then connecting the controller directly to the battery. There is no connection from the trailer to the controller. Unless Jayco installed some additional wiring, it seems that the panel connected directly to the trailer bypasses the controller. Yep, elementary question but safety first. Thanks.

There are different setups acfoss the lines. Generally the roof connectors are wired to put a charge controller in the marked location. The low connector is expected to come from a charge controller(most people would use a suitcase type charge on those).
