Safe-T-Alert sensor problems

We purchase our 2013 Jay Flight 28BHBE in May of 2014 (year end close out). We first started having trouble with the alarm in December of 2014. The original alarm was replaced under warranty as a defect. We have had no problems until this weekend. After the third night of being awakened in the wee hours of the morning, we disconnected the sensor. It also went of one morning about 10:00 am.
My questions are, is this something that we have to replace ever year or so, or can we buy a battery operated or some other type to install.
Not a very restful trip with that going off.

You have ruled out propane leaks and CO, correct?

I assume you were not connected to 'shore' power. Correct? How's your battery voltage and condition? Those alarms will also go off due to a low battery.

Anecdotally... someone reported their dog sleeps near the alarm and occasionally passed gas and that set off their alarm.

No propane leaks. We we hooked to shore power.
The dog was on the other side of the room.
We were able to get it to turn off after opening the door and fanning some outside air in.
The dog is with us on most trips however this is the first time it has gone off with the replaced sensor.

Do you use a space heater? Why I say that is because mine did that at first because the air was hot enough to warm up the fake wood on the other side of the room and the off gassing of the vinyl set it off.

No, no space heater. We did use central heat only the first night.
