Sanitizing Fresh Water System

I just bought a used trailer and wondering how I should go about sanitizing the fresh water tank and water lines?

Curious....when running water in the RV; does it still come from/through the fresh water tank if I am hooked up to water service by hose? Or is the tank bypassed?

Not knowing what you have my guess is you have an on board fresh water tank connection and a city water connection. They operate independently of each other so you will have to sanitize each side of your system. Both sides go thru your water service lines but from different sources. I would be more concerned with the storage side. A little bleach a little time and a lot of water will clean it up.
Post the unit model that you have and you will get better info on how to. If you are new here welcome aboard and enjoy.

Yes, most trailers bypass the water tank and pump when hooked up to city water connection. Should have the city water hose connection on the side of trailer. You should also have a tank fill spot on side of trailer that you just fill water tank, and then use your on board pump to draw water to fixtures inside.

I think it's a half cup to 30 gallons of fresh water. Run through pipes, then let stand in both tank and lines for 4 hours , or overnight if you like.

Drain, fill with fresh water, flush lines, drain.
