Satellite TV cable configuration...

I'm tossing around the idea of bringing DirecTV along for our camping trips. A neighbor of mine used to sell DirecTV and gave me a few brand new dishes that I can use. I'm going to custom build an adjustable tripod to mount the dish. My questions are about the cabling setups.

The input on jack on the back of the HTT is labeled for cable and satellite. But some of the threads I've been reading say that I cannot use this jack and that I'd need to run a separate cable. So, which is it?

Then, I was planning to use one of my boxes from the house instead of paying for a separate service. Can this be done?

And lastly, how do you hook up the cables on the inside? These are the connections that I have.

What the heck is that loop of cable for???

I tried the search options with no luck. Thanks in advance for your help.

That a/b is for your satellite cable input. A goes to your satellite receiver. Then run an hdmi or other cable from your receiver into your TV. If you are hooking up to cable, leave the a/b loop connected. This takes the cable to both TV's. You can use your receiver from home. We do that all the time. I have direct TV and the NFL package and would not think of going without my satellite. You can go to tv4rv.com and buy a heavy tripod for the heavy direct TV dish.
