Sealing gaps in underbelly?
My new 154bh has ripples and gaps in between the underbelly covering and the frame where the screws hold it down. Some are as large as 1/2 inch in places. Any reason I can't just seal this up with some caulking, spray foam, or some other type of material to close the gaps and keep the potential for rodents away?
Also, the RV dealer told me it'd be a good idea to buy a cat flea collar and put it in the recesses behind my vents as it will keep wasps/hornets away. Couldn't I just get some screen material, remove the vent and place the screen over the gap and place the vent back over the top of it? If nothing else, I may just completely cover the vent areas with something completely blocking while in outdoor storage and just remember to remove the coverings before taking off on a trip.

My dealer used expanding foam when I pointed all the gaps and open spots out during the PDI.

i would use the minimal expanding foam - not sure if that is available in black or not the yellow is really ugly unless its trimmed back after drying

Yes, spray foam is what you should use.
They make a waterproof spray foam that is black in color.
And there are custom made screens that go in your refrigerator vents and over your furnace vents to keep the bugs (like mud daubers) out.

My unit had gaps in joints underneath, after a year the screws they used to fasten the joints together rotted away. I put stainless screws throughout the underbody and sealed joints with bare bond tape- same as NASCAR teams use. That tape will not come off or leak air. I also used spray foam on larger gaps around pipes but looks ugly as hell. I agree with some of you on spray foam, Jayco however used grey foam that holds up well, just can't find where to but it.

Pond and stone spray foam at lowes or Home Depot if you can find it in stock. It's grayish color.

i used black gorilla tape on mine and it works great ... stays put but if you have to pull it off you can carefully pull it away without destroying the under cover

Ha! Just so happens I have a roll of this sitting on my desk in front of me! Thanks! Wouldn't have thought of that. Also, I'll see immediate evidence of tampering if a rodent were to try to chew through it.
