seat cushions

Hello. I am hoping someone can help us. We just purchased our very first travel trailer. It is a 2014 Jayco Whitehawk 28DSBH. There is Velcro on the one side of our seat cushions but nothing on the seat benches to stick it too. The cushions keep falling down when we brush up against them. We bought more Velcro but unfortunately it doesn't stick to the seat benches. I am hoping someone can offer some ideas as to how we can get these cushions to stay connected to the benches. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

We have velcro on the seat backs and the wall behind them and they pretty much stay put. The bottom cushions are loose so we push them back in occasionally. Not a big deal but maybe I should velcro the seats too?

havnfun --Thank you so much for your response. Can I ask you if your trailer came with the Velcro on the wall behind the seat cushions? Ours came with Velcro on the seat cushions but not on the walls behind them. Maybe the Jayco team forgot to add the Velcro to the back walls? We purchased some Velcro and tried fastening it to the wall but it wouldn't stick. I'm not bothered by the bottom cushions. It's the top ones that keep topping over is what is bothering me. They won't stay up and it's annoying to have to keep putting them back up every 5 minutes. Would you have any suggestions as to how we can fix this problem without destroying the back walls? Again, thanks so much for trying to help. It means a lot to us. We have never owned a travel trailer before and are learning as we go. Before we purchased a Jayco we did tons of research and I ran into this forum. I felt we could always get help on here since there are so many knowledgeable and kind people trying to help each other out. Thanks again my friend!

You could run some very small screws through the Velcro strips to hold them to the wall if they won't stick. You wouldn't be ruining the wall, and they will never be seen regardless.

Thank you so much Bobx2. I think that's exactly what we are going to have to do. I was hoping I wouldn't have to put screws in there but it is looking like I don't have a choice. Thank you again for your help. It is greatly appreciated my friend!

Try using contact cement on the Velcro tabs. That should hold them in place and you can remove them with a heat gun or hair dryer when needed.

seat cushions

peagen-
If you have a staple gun, you might give each velcro tab a few staples to hold it on the wall. I believe mine are stapled by the factory. Contact cement would probably work too, or maybe both staples and cement. Couldn't hurt!
You will love your new Jayco. Any questions you have can really be answered by the folks on this forum. They are really smart and have been thru all the issues as you can imagine.
Enjoy your new TT and have lots of relaxing and fun times.
Congrats and welcome to JOF!

havnfun- Thanks again for your help! We were very nervous about buying our TT so I had many sleepless nights trying to research to see which manufacturer we should go with and I have to tell you, your right about this forum. Between this forum and all the other research I did, I believe we got something that is built solid and will be dependable for years to come. We are very excited about this new journey in our lives. Our dream is to be camping grandparents. We want to take our grandchildren camping every year. That will be our special time together. In fact, I just made our first camping reservations for April 25th until May 8th! My grandson is 3 years old and I think he will love it. He will be the test pilot to see if this age is a good one to start my other future grandchildren off with. LOL! Thank you so much for all your guidance and support. It truly means a lot to us!

Peagen- Hope your grandkids love camping as much as ours do. It is really great time together and their parents enjoy the time off. Those GKs really keep us busy though. It's worth it!

havnfun- That sure is what were hoping for! Our goal is to have Quality time with our GK's so they will know who we are, how much we love them and want to be a part of their lives. You are most certainly right about the parents time off! My daughter is so excited that she will be able to finally get some R&R for herself that she's just as excited about this trip as we are! LOL!!

I would find some 3M double sided tape first. It's a little pricey, but it is sticky! I used it on exterior fastening as well as some interior decorating swing stops, like clocks and such.

3'senough - Thank you for your response! It doesn't matter if it's expensive as long as it works! LOL!

jtownstumpjumper- Thank you for your response! We did try more Velcro but for some reason it didn't stick to the walls behind the seat cushions on our particular travel trailer model. I wish we would have had your luck! LOL!

Seems you found a solution, I used the adheasive velcro and used a heat gun to ensure it stuck! over a year and still stuck

We had the same problem our our 28DSBH. The velcro that I put on the cushions stayed as the material had enough "bite". However the veneer was too slippery so it would come off. I traced where the velco would be, then blue taped around and sanded the wood to make it rough. I put on contact cement and now everything holds the way it should.

I just wanted to finish out this conversation with what worked and what didn't in our individual case. We tried to adhere extra velro by itself which didn't work because it wouldn't stick to the walls. We then tried the 3M tape. No luck there either. Then we tried the heat gun. That still didn't solve our problem. We ended up using small staples to secure the Velcro to the walls and that did the trick. Once again I cannot express enough gratitude to all you kind and knowledgeable people who took the time to try and help. What a blessing this forum and you all are!! Happy Camping my friends!!

What about using a hot glue gun to get the velcro to stick?
