Shades

Just a couple of quick questions for everyone.

Do you travel with your shades up or down? And why? Also, do you store your camper with them up or down? Just curious!

For travel I have done both, but usually down. Always down for storage. Mainly to keep the UV rays out.

We were closing the shades while traveling, but have started to leave them open. No particular reason, just didn't bother closing them. In theory I suppose it would keep the interior cooler to travel with them closed, but we really haven't noticed a difference.

Last winter we stored with them open, but again, no particular reason.

We keep the pleated shades down, but there are mini-blinds on the kitchen window and we travel with them up since they could move around a lot and could possibly get damaged.
We store it like that also.

We close ours during travel and storage. The blinds end up working their way closed from just the bouncing and vibration of the road. I feel the less tension on the string the better.

Like this ^^^. And we leave vents open to reduce condensation and moderate temperatures.

When we got our trailer the dealer recommended travelling with the pleated shades down so they don't wiggle down. He also said to store the trailer with the shades up so that the pleats will maintain better.

We travel with all shades down, and store with them down as well. We do it to keep the UV off the furniture. They don't do a lot to mitigate heat...

We put a pair of blind retainer brackets on our kitchen wall to hold the blinds on the kitchen window, so those stay down too. We installed the clips not as much for travel, but because we got tired of hearing them clanging around every time we moved around in the trailer. Without additional stab jacks in the middle, our trailer still wiggles enough to move those blinds.

Shades down all the time. We really don't open the shades often. We are normally outside unless we are sleeping...
