Should I expect a "Starter Kit" with a new TT?

Is it common for Dealers to include a starter kit with a new TT?
I'm thinking Sewer hose, water fill hose, toilet tablets, chocks etc..
What been your expierance.
What should be I expect?

Both units we've bought came with a starter kit. No chocks tho. The fresh water hose was basic, cheap water pressure regulator, cheap power plug adapter (throw it out and buy a dog-bone type), slinky was very short and some black tank chems is what I remember. Most useful part was the bucket it all came in.

Nothing came with our Alante except a bunch of manuals (many missing). We did however get a walk around in their store to point out what we needed. I took a picture of every item and bought everything online saving between 30 and 50%.

Ours came with a sample bottle of black tank chemical and a wave goodbye.

All depends on what level of customer service/appreciation your dealer provides. If you didn't get one you now know what to expect down the road in my opinion.

My dealer used to give a starter kit but not any longer because a lot of new sales are to previous owners. Don't need 2 sewer hoses. So now they give a $50 gift card to their in house store so you can get a few things. Everything else I get at Walmart or Amazon.

Did you expect the best price too? The only thing I would like is the best price that we can agree on other than that I'm on my own. Did all my research first and because of this forum and other campers I bought the proper equipment first time around. Remember nothing is free.

You must have gotten your camper from Hilltop as well.

We got a $50 Gift Card to the dealer's store as well. That was kind of nice because we had a lot of the stuff already that might have been included in a starter package. This way we could get what we needed. I don't remember what we all bought but I think some of those carpets for the steps an maybe a couple other small things to burn up the $50. We also bought at the RV Show and part of that deal they threw in some other stuff. Two (dealer branded) folding chairs. The style with the small table on the side. 4 insulated drinking cups with cover and straw. Soft Sided Cooler and a few other little things. Of all the stuff they gave us, I think the only one we really haven't used would be the soft sided cooler.

No starter kit

You could try to negotiate one with the purchase but it wouldn't be the quality parts that you would want for long term service

If I remember correctly, we received a water regulator, sewer hose, toilet chemicals and a 25% discount for their store for purchasing only the day off our walk thru. The sewer hose was junk and we threw it away before we used it. The store coupon was useless because we didn't know what we really needed and found their items had a large mark up.

Yep, my dealer threw in a $250 camping world card so that I could get all the stuff I needed to get started. Then they walked me through the store showing me what I needed (since I had no clue). I would definitely try to negotiate something like that in the deal. Sales are strong still. But they are still desperate to get rid of what's on the lot.

I think it is dealer dependent, and not Jayco provided.

Our dealer gave us a 5 gallon bucket with a lid, with their name on it. In it was a 25' water hose, a section of cheap sewer hose, a sample bottle of black tank chemicals, and instructions on how to use/care for the tanks. I think that was it,

We still use the water hose, and the sewer hose. The sewer hose in not fancy nor long. But we have only stayed in two campgrounds with full hook ups so it is not an issue for our camping style.

It sounds like each dealership is very different.

We've bought 4 different RVs from 3 different dealers (the last two from the same dealer). Our first one was a used pop-up and didn't come with anything other than what the previous owner left behind. Our next was a new Hybrid TT. It came with a fresh water hose, sewer hose and a roll of TP. The dealer where we bought our last 2 RVs only gave us a cheap sewer hose. The first RV, the hose didn't come with any fittings. Our current RV came with the hose and a fitting on one end of the hose.

Camco sells that 'Starter Kit' in a bucket to dealers and will brand it for them if they order enough. The whole bucket costs them $39 so you know how good it is [emoji19]
I told em to just keep it.
They offered me anything of equal value and I took a really good sewer hose extension that I needed.

My dealer offered one, but I declined as we already had the basics. They gave me a $20 store credit tho...I thought that was a nice gesture.

I don't recall any freebies. But I'd expect them to be worth every penny I didn't pay for them.

We got a crappy sewer hose, a 15' cheap white water hose and a trial size of chemicals. Had to replace everything. Would have much preferred a gift card.!

Many dealers will give you a starter kit, not required. Just a freebie that you likely paid for somehow.

Personally, I would rather have a store credit to get some quality stuff because that is what you will want as soon as you camp a few times.

we got a $25 coupon for the dealers store, a VIP membership that gets us a discount on anything we buy from their store. we also get a yearly free inspection for the first 2 years.

I thought it was crappy that they didn't give a starter kit but now that I know, I t would have been all cheap stuff that I would have ended up replacing anyway
