I should have mentioned when we bought our current TT in May, the dealer did give us a $25 gift card to there store and if we purchased anything that day, we got 15% off. When we bought our Motorhome in 2009, from the same dealer, we got a $50 gift card and the same 15% off.

What been your expierance.
What should be I expect?
We spent $45K on our new 5'r and got nothing extra. I've spent several hundred dollars on "extras" since we started and still not complete yet.
* Sewer hose w/extension
* Add-on valve for dumping pipe
* Sewer hose slinky (to keep hose off ground)
* Sewer hose "donut"
* White and black water hoses
* Box of rubber gloves
* Wheel chocks
* Wheel blocks (leveling)
* 50A surge protector
* Plastic guard w/lock for surge protector
* Water pressure regulator
* Water filter
* Bendable hose end w/spring to keep from kinking
* 12GA Contractor extension cord
* 50A ->30A converter for sites w/no 50A hookups
* 50A ->15A for 110 connection to house/storage power
* Several packs of "RV" toilet paper
* Black water tank treatment pods
** Picnic table cover
** Rugs
** Trash cans and bags
** Silverware & dishes
** Flashlights
** Mop & Vacuum
** Towels & Linens
** Air compressor (tires & floats)
** Ramp (in case of flat)

I might have missed something but you get the point. All I can say is Amazon.com has pretty good prices and quick delivery!

This what my dealer did. $50 to spend in their store. They did take us through the store suggesting some things that we might need to start camping. obviously, we had all that stuff. One thing we didn't have that they pointed out was an Andersen 3608 Trailer Jack Block. We bought it, and it has worked really, really well for us.

We got a kit with ours but the sewer hose last almost a year so I had to buy the Flex one.

No you shouldn't expect a starter kit. The dealer we bought our first camper from didn't give any kind of kit. A different dealer we bought our second camper from did. However the quality of the items in the kit wasn't great. I gave it away to the buyers of our first camper.

Correct about the "starter" kit. All the stuff is of very low quality. What is nice is if a dealer will give you say $50 to spend in their store for something you might want. It's a nice gesture of appreciation. This is especially true if you are "seasoned veteran" of the RV lifestyle.

In my case we were able to buy something we'd never considered, hadn't even noticed before, but it turned out to be something great. It's an Andersen stand that fits under the tongue jack. It's been wonderful.

We received a bucket with a sewer hose, fresh water hose, pressure regulator for the water, surge protector for electric, a package of toilet paper, sample of liquid black tank solution and a bag of black tank drop in packets.
