Shower question
Hello, So I got in my new camper today to look around. Noticed in the bathroom there is a gap between where the tub and shower surround come together. Now I know my old camper had a space but not as much. I did run a beed of clear shower silicone around my old one. Is there a need to do this or are all TT showers like this. Will water get between the tub and shower and cause damage.

I questioned my dealer about that and was told it did not need caulk after asking Jayco. Jayco does not put it there so moisture is not trapped in the walls.
Good enough for me, I have had no problems with it not being caulked.

Yep,
I misunderstood. He has a tub and surround. The tub has a flange that goes up behind the wall coming down.

Ask your dealer just to be sure. On mine it is as Doug sez.

DONT DO IT... that is so any moisture that gets in the back of the tub surround can get out...

In my opinion it is normal. The tub has a lip that extends up the wall behind the tub surround so water does not get in there. The top of thetub surround is open to allow moisture to escape.

What model trailer do you have? I just got my 2013 Eagle 334RBTS and it has a big shower. After my first shower there was a small puddle of water on the other side of the wall in front of the television. Jayco didn't caulk the bottom gap between the shower tub and the big shower glass adjacent to the shower door. They did caulk the corner but not the width at the bottom. Water hits the glass up high, trickles down to the lip of the tub, sits there for a few seconds, then squeezes through to the other side. Then it pools up in the small gap between the shower and the wall inside the bathroom, or it makes its way to the other side, right where the shoe storage hole is under the television entertainment center. So I cold caulked the *******. Last time she lets the water out!

Nice to know about the 334RBTS as I'm on the books for one in a month. Had the same issue with my Crossroads Cruiser with the same exact shower. Water hit the glass, ran down to the metal shower frame where it meets the pan and leaked through. I bought a high grade tub/shower silicone and went to town. Never leaked again.

We had a leak also
Have a White Hawk 27 and during our 96 days out noted a water puddle in the back bedroom several times, just on the other side of the shower wall. Called our dealer and they told us to seal it. After that no problem.

I have a 2013 Jayco Eagle 314 bds , I looked closer and it does look like the shower wall goes over the tub lip. So I think it is normal and looks okay thanks all for the help

ours has been barely used and it the shower wall has completely detached from the wall, my husband is going to call around the whole thing...we may need some adhesive tape or something to attach it back on and then caulk it? its pretty separated :lightning:

Sounds like you may need some Liquid Nails Construction Adhesive Caulk.
With the overlaps, you won't need to caulk them.
