Sidekick Grill
How many on here are using the Sidekick grill? Ours came with our trailer (that's the way the dealer orders them, didn't pay extra). I have no interest in mounting it on the side of the trailer but I like the ability to use it as a tabletop grill. I'm debating whether to use this grill as a tabletop grill and get an extension for the quick-connect line or just using a different unit and selling/storing this one. I've seen many posts about connecting these grills or whether to use on the side of the trailer, but not much about how anyone likes the grill itself.
I do like the fact that I have it and it didn't cost me any extra... I would like to get it set up to use portable propane bottles or maybe a 5-lb cylinder in addition to the quick release supply. It seems pretty sturdy and doesn't take up much space whan stored.
Any thoughts? I may just suck it up and get a Weber-Q or Go-anywhere grill. I don't think I've ever heard a negative word about the Q... Having a new trailer, we're spending money left and right so I'm trying to do it wisely Not to mention our Diesel bill

I started out with the Weber Q and like it......if you are only cooking for 1 or 2 people. If you are cooking for more than that and need bigger frying pans, etc. you won't have enough room on the grill or BTU's. Ask me how I know? :hihi:

I used the grill that came with my Greyhawk 31FS, assuming it is what you are referring to as well.
I grilled with it and think it pretty much stinks. It does not cook evenly. Plus, I dont think it is very wise to use a grill attached to the side of your coach. I am interested in a Weber and seeing if you can run it from the onboard LP tanks via an extended hose.
Problem is, the Weber requires more space to store..

I did not like the size of the BBQ offered when I bought my new TT. Instead I bought a WEber 200 and removed the regulator. Now I can run it off the quick connect fitting under my TT.

We've used ours several times and while it's not great it's not that bad either. Decided I didn't want to lug charcoal around for occasional use and using the house propane seems a good convenience. As another post suggests, if you have lots of people to cook for it's not big enough but steaks, burgers... for 4 people is OK. I've had no problems with grease/smoke staining the TT side and since it hangs on its own rack I don't have to provide another table for it.

The grill is lightweight, convenient to pack and easy to setup. It's only missing it's own ignition source.

I have the RVQ Grill that came with my Jayco Eagle. The grill is easy to set up and use, but cleaning the grill is a pain!

Well, as luck would have it... I was walking through Fred Meyer today and came across a Coleman Roadtrip Sport (smaller version) on clearance for $89. I did some quick iphone research and decided to pounce. It is normally $130 at Fred Meyer and around $145 on sale at CW.
I put it together and I think it's pretty cool! As many reviews have said, it sits just a little bit low on its built-in stand, but I frequenly BBQ from my comfy camp chair, so I get to keep that option. It looks pretty easy to clean and sturdy (many reviews made it sound cheap or flimsy, but it seems pretty well designed for the price point). If it cooks decent, I'll be totally sold! 11,000 BTU's and a bigger cooking surface than the Q120. I will eventually pick up the adapter hose to use a 5lb or 20-30lb cylinder. I will probably not spend the money to plumb it to the TT quick connect because the control valve and regulator seem to be integrated (double low pressure?). I prefer to be further from my trailer/awning anyway.
So the Sidekick will likely be a no-go for me...
I will be sure to update with a full report after we use it!

I see you are going with the Colman grill. Well i'll post the pictures anyway.. When I went outside to take the pictures it reminded me of one problem I had with the grill. It has a top grill which turned out to be useless. I wanted to toast the buns with cheese for the Burgers I put the buns up there closed the top, and when I opened it to take the buns out the cheese was melted to the top cover.,Top grill is getting cut off..

I kinda like my RV500 grill .. same one as above. Certainly not as good (or big) as my home grill but we cook on it daily, from breakfast to dinner. I bought a small cast-iron fry pan that fits in there quite nicely for bacon and stuff, and it does fine for most other things. Have to keep a close eye on it as it's not as good as the home bbq, but it's convenient and works for us..every second trip or so I pull it out and pressure wash it down ... keeps things clean.

Yeah Rick, that upper grill surface is close to the top lid. I found that out this last week also but I only had an aluminum pouch with potatos in it so no fault. Nice rack!

I have the same grill but the mount/clamp on the bumper was recently stolen. It was the same as the photo you posted. Any idea where I can buy one? Thanks
