Skylight Cover
I have a skylight in my 2015 Whitehawk 23mbh that didn't come with a shade that can be closed. It's a great option to have to let light in but in the mornings it can be too bright when trying to sleep in. Also it can make it warmer inside during the day when the sun is high and hot. Right now we are taping a garbage bag over to block light when not needed. Would like something better to open and close. Anyone have an idea what could be done? Does anyone have the same trailer and rig something up? Any help or ideas are appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Camco makes a retractible skylight shade. Sold on amazon and camping world for about 10 bucks. If you Google rv skylight shade there are quite a few options and cheaper than you might expect.

We have pieces of a reflective windshield shade we've cut up. When we have to battle the heat coming in through the skylights (even one with a shade), we put those reflective pieces in place inside held with blue painters tape. Not very elegant, but it cuts the heat and light.

We have several of these: Robot Check
They are good to keep out heat and cold also. We store them when not in use.

I also use the reflectix, yeck I have some for every window including the door window. Knocks down the light, will pretty much black out the inside of the camper for naps during the day.

Cut a piece of foam rubber just slightly larger than the opening then put it in a pillowcase or make some fabric that suits and put it in the opening.. friction will hold it up
OH use a piece of foam rubber at least 2" thick

Edit: NM - this is a skylight, not a vent. My original suggestion if it had been a vent:
Put one of the black MaxxAir covers over it. Yes, it will cut the light transmission all the time, but it will also cut daytime heating, and you don't have to remember to close/cover the vent each night before bed. Also, the ventilation will work all the time; many covers block air flow.

Disclaimer: the item I mentioned is great for Roof vents. It will not work in a skylight.

Whatever you need, I'd use Velcro, the self-stick kind, and just make an extra decorative strip to put up when you don't need the cover.

Or do this and get rid of it all together.

Outside looks like this. Inner dome has combination of relectix and batten insulation.
