slide
We have a new to us 2003 Kiwi Too with a small slide.
My Question is when we bring the slide in it will stop on it's own but going out we have to judge when it is all the way, is this normal for a Jayco slide?

What happens when you don't judge right and go too far? Ours goes out to the max then just continues with the whirring sound accompanied by a click.click.click.click until we release the button.

Yes, I'm not sure what happens when you extend the slide to far out? Ours just clicks a couple of times if you continue to hold the extend button down. It should not run out and fall off.
Just kidding.... It should stop and give some indication that it is extended to the maximum. Let us know please.

*really curious now*
Dan, what exactly does it do when you extend the slide? Does it actually disengage from the trailer?

No it does not disengage, I stop it before it pulls the inside, side panels off. The first time I moved it out it bowed the side panels on the inside so now I watch and when it is flush with the walls I stop it and check to make sure it is sealed on the wall.

Wow Dan, that doesn't sound good! I hope you can get it taken care of without too much out-of-pocket cost.

Wow !! The stop point on the slide need adjusting. I don't think that is a big deal. Only takes a tech a few minutes. "I think."

I heard of a real horror story last week from a mobile RV service repairman. He told me of a call he received about 2 years ago. It turns out the owners had a slideout that was not centered and they had a tech recenter the slideout, but the tech forgot to re-install slide out stops. Unfortunately the next time the slide was opened it actually fell off. Thank goodness no one was near the area where it landed.
