Slide awnings

Hey guys I just parked my trailer at a park for the season. I have slide awnings and was wondering if it was okay the leave my slides open for the whole season or should I close them when I'm not there. I'm worried about heavy winds damaging them?

I put cheap blow up beach balls between the slide out roof and awning to take the slack up in the awning plus water does not collect on the awning and make it sag. What ever you feel comfortable with.
