Slideout Question

Hello all,

I have a 2016 X213 and over the last couple of camping trips we have noticed a change with the slide out. In the past, we would slide it out until it "clicked" once and then stop - basically proving it was 100% extended.

Now instead of hearing any clicking, the lighting in the camper fades out. When I release the slide out button the lights are back on. No more clicking, only fading lights to tell me that the slide out is fully extended. The slide out works fine and we have had no other issues with the trailer. Do I need to be concerned about this?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a low battery issue. Check your voltage. May try plugging in to shore power first or leaving connected to tv.

Sounds like a battery problem. I would check for loose connections, make sure all the cells are full and terminals are clean.

So even if the trailer is plugged in for days I get the same result. And I always have the trailer plugged in when I use the slideout. Perhaps I need to put a volt meter to the battery and see if something is up. I have a sinking feeling that the battery on this thing is garbage.

If I do end up replacing, can you recommend a battery type and brand? What should I be replacing the battery with?

If you were not connected to shore power at the time then as suggested probably battery is going bad. If you were connected I'd suspect the converter or charging circuit in the power center.

Slideout Question

Ours does the same thing. On shore power it will click but on battery power it just sorta winds down. It's normal.

bumping hoping that somebody has advice about what this means when you are actually plugged in... It almost seems like the slideout runs through the battery regardless of if we are plugged into shore power or not

thanks!

The slide does run off 12v, but should be running off the converter when plugged in. Have you checked your converter output voltage?

Not sure what your output should be, but I'm sure it should be more than 12 volts in order to charge the battery. Check the specs on your particular model. I have also seen a bad battery cause screwy stuff to happen. Could also be a grounding issue, but I'd start with the simple stuff first. Hope this helps.

How do you check the output voltage on your converter?

Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I have will chime in. I would check the battery posts when plugged in to shore power.
