Snow build up & ADCO cover

So back in October I bought our first TT, I winterized it and then I bought an ADCO cover. As winter rolls on this year we have had a bunch of snow then a thaw, and this has happened several times. As of today I have some snow on the roof. Couple questions spring to mind:

1. How much snow is acceptable to leave on the roof?

2. If clearing the snow off with an ADCO cover on is there a trick to it? I don't want to use a shovel in case it tears, also should it be the same as a house and by that I mean remove some but not all?

Oh, and the driveway had ice under the snow, the result on Friday night was the snowblower slid on it and got to close to the cover resulting in what is on the picture. Good thing it comes with extra patches!

According to our Jayco manual you should remove snow loads over 8". With that said, I also use a cover. I carefully use a push broom to pull off the majority of the snow, I wouldn't get to worried about removing all of it. The tricky part is this requires a ladder so don't try this by yourself, I always have someone holding the ladder. I'd also recommend using a step ladder rather than an extension ladder, they are much more stable, plus you don't run the risk of damaging the side of your roof.

Go to the hardware and ask it they have a SNOWRAKE... it has a plastic blade and should be good for taking off snow load from the ground...

So I used the push broom method on the ladder.

ID:	6381Guess I should have done it sooner, the cover has two rips in it. Going to have to wait until the spring and get the patches on it. One was right over the vent for the toilet and the other was over the a/c unit.

I don't have a cover but do have a snowrake and find them a blessing for taking snow of my acrylic fabric home awnings. I comes with three 7 ft pole extentions. I find i can control it without scraping the bottom on the fabric. Its shaped like a scoop and you just have to take your time.
