Solar Panel Installation

I have been considering adding a 100W solar panel to the roof of my 2015 JayFlight 267BHSW. I observed on YouTube where someone had run wires through the fridge vent to a controller/regulator and then tied into the batteries via the fuse box/converter. Have any of you attempted this and what are your recommendations? I am trying to avoid putting any more holes in my roof and with such a long way to the tongue the run of wire would be great with a lot of charging capability lost. Thank you!

I pulled mine down through the bathroom vent and out into the basement, Used silicone and Dicor to seal up both in and out points

Some of the members were successful in fishing their wire down the refrigerator vent, but some encountered a blockage of some sort. I took the route of using self-stick plastic wire channels (Lowes has them). I ran the channel along the awning to the front of the TT. Click on my Solar Album below to see what the finished project looks like. Also, if you go to the "RVing with SOLAR" social group, I have step-by-step instructions on how I installed my SOLAR panel on the roof of our EAGLE.

Good Luck,

Don

I appreciate the feedback as to other options. I haven't looked at the feasibility of running the wires down the fridge vent yet, it was just a thought and I was curious as to whether it was possible to connect to the battery behind the converter as well if anyone had experienced success.

Thanks again!

I originally ran some RG COAX to a roof mounted RADIO SCANNER ANTENNA. The following late season I was overrun with LADY BUGS. Be careful where you poke...
